There's a new addition to our pack of puppies with the Terrier, and you can get one of your own two ways:

1) Purchase for 65 Farm Cash

2) The ability to purchase the Terrier for coins is unlocked if you have 15 or more neighbors and are at least level 8:



Once you’ve got enough neighbors you can purchase the Terrier for 5,000 Coins. The Terrier must be fed once a day for 14 days, and comes with one bag of Kibble just like the coin purchased version of the Border Collie.

If you do not feed your puppy, you’ll need to rescue it from the pound.

One farmer can have both the coin versions of the Terrier and Border Collie at the same time!

Dogs!

Those of you that have taken good care of your puppies will as of tonight’s update will start to have full grown Dogs! Not only that, you’ll be able to teach your dog to do tricks!

PLEASE NOTE: You must wait until the very end of your puppy's feeding cycle before it will grow up. If you still have a puppy and your counter is still displaying, please wait until this counter has completely finished. Once the timer completely counts down, your dog will grow up (a refresh may be required).

The first time you head into FarmVille once your dog has grown up, you’ll get the following pop up:




Clicking Cancel will close the Pop Up and you’ll see your new grown up dog.


Now you can start teaching your dog new tricks! In order to get started and see what you can learn, click your dog to access their pulldown menu.



The first trick your dog can learn will be in the menu, locked. Select it to access your dog’s trick menu:




In order to for your dog to learn tricks, you’ll need to feed them treats. You can get treats one of three ways:

1) Purchasing them in the Market (1 pack of 7 for 5 Farm Cash):


2) Asking your friends for them via feeds. If you don’t have any dog treats, selecting the Feed option from your dog’s pulldown menu will display the following pop-up:

Clicking Ask For Treats will give you the option to post a feed that if clicked will let up to three of your neighbors send you one treat each. This feed remains active for up to 24 hours, or once three neighbors have clicked. Each neighbor that helps you receives 100 Coins.

3) Receiving them from friends as Gifts:
Your friends can send dog treats to you via the Free Gifts page, just like any other gift


Teaching Your Dog Tricks
Now that you’ve got dog treats, you can feed them to your dog so it can learn new tricks. In the Tricks menu, whatever trick you’re currently able to learn will be displayed, along with the number of treats necessary:



For example, you only need to feed your dog one treat to teach it its first trick, Roll Over. To feed your dog the treat, either select Feed from its pulldown menu, or click use on the dog treats in your Gift Box. This will allow you to select which dog you’d like to feed treats to.

 
When you feed your dog its first treat, you’ll receive the following pop-up:


Now your dog knows Roll Over and it is unlocked from its pulldown menu. The next trick that it can learn will displayed in the pulldown menu as LOCKED.

For tricks that require more than one treat, you’ll need to feed your dog once every 24 hours for each day that a treat is required. For example, learning Shake requires three treats. So, when you feed your dog the first treat to begin learning this treat, they’ll be hungry again 24 hours after the first treat. Once they’re hungry again, you’ll need to feed them to continue your progress. After the third treat (on the third day), they’ll have learned Shake. You can only feed your dog once a day.

One exception to this is whenever your dog actually learns a trick. Whenever your dog learns a trick, you can feed them another treat to start learning their next trick whenever you like!



If you miss feeding your dog for one day when they’re learning a trick, they’ll lose their progress and you’ll need to start over! When you enter the game after missing a day, you’ll see the following pop up:

PLEASE NOTE: If you lose progress on a single trick, your dog still keeps all the other tricks it has already learned.

For each trick, you’ll need to feed your dog a different amount of treats:
• 1st Trick – 1 Treat
• 2nd Trick – 3 Treats
• 3rd Trick – 3 Treats
• Final Trick – 7 Treats

The final trick your dog can learn is one that is specific to your dog’s breed!

Pets have finally come to FarmVille with our latest feature! You can now buy a puppy of your very own in our Market! Your new puppy will follow you wherever you go, and will eventually become a full grown dog! Here’s how you can get one.

Coin Option – Buying Your Puppy
You can purchase the Red Border Collie for 300,000 Coins:






When you click Buy, the following pop-up appears, letting you know that you’ll need to feed your puppy every day in order to keep it from running away. You are NOT charged for the puppy at this point. Clicking Okay on this pop-up takes you to the Puppy Customization screen:






At this point, you can pick a Name for your puppy, and whether it is Male or Female. PLEASE NOTE: The only color available for the coin Border Collie is Red. If you select a color other than Red, the price will change from 300,000 Coins to 65 Farm Cash:



Once you’re ready to purchase your Red Border Collie, click the Buy button. You’ll receive a popup reminding you to feed your puppy Kibble once every day, or it will run away:



Clicking Okay will take you to your Farm to place your new puppy. You are only charged for the puppy when you place him or her on your Farm. Once your puppy is placed, it will run up to you with a thought bubble over its head with Kibble inside



This means that your puppy is hungry and needs kibble!

Coin Option – Feeding Your Puppy
In order to keep your puppy around, once it’s hungry you’ll need to feed it Kibble once every 24 hours for a period of 14 days. You can get Kibble one of two ways:

Purchasing it in the Market for 5 Farm Cash (one bag per 5 Farm Cash):



Or you can ask your friends to send you Kibble via Feeds. Selecting Ask for Kibble from your puppy’s pulldown menu will bring up the following popup:




Clicking Ask Your Friends will give you the option to post a feed that if clicked will let up to three of your neighbors send you one bag of Kibble each. This feed remains active for up to 24 hours, or once three neighbors have clicked. Each neighbor that helps you receives 100 Coins.

All Kibble you receive whether from Neighbors or from the Market will automatically go to your Gift Box. To feed your puppy, when you have Kibble available and they are hungry, either select Feed from the puppy’s pulldown menu.

To view the status of your puppy, simply mouseover your pet, and you’ll see how many times out of 14 that they’ve already been fed. If they’re currently hungry, you’ll see how much time you have before they run away (the “Feed Now” timer). If they’ve already been fed once for the day, you’ll see a timer showing how long you have before they’re hungry again.

Rescuing Your Puppy From the Pound – Coin Puppy Only
If you forget to feed your puppy, they’ll end up in the pound, and you’ll need to pay to get them out. When you enter FarmVille after your puppy’s run away, there will be a HUD icon in the upper-left hand corner of your screen with a puppy behind bars. Once you click on this HUD icon, you’ll receive the following pop up:


Clicking Pay Fine will take you to the Pets section of the Market with a ‘Rescue My Dog’ option.


Clicking Buy will take you back to your Farm and give you the option to place your puppy. PLEASE NOTE: Your Farm Cash will not be deducted until you place your puppy on your Farm.

Remember that you may only have one Coin purchased puppy. That means that if your puppy goes to the pound, you can not purchase another Coin puppy. You’ll have to retrieve your original puppy from the pound.

Farm Cash Option – Buying A Puppy
You can buy the Golden Retriever, Sheep Dog, and Border Collie for 65 Farm Cash Each. Each Puppy has the option for three different colors, along with the same options as the Coin Option puppy. The Cash puppy also comes with a 2 weeks supply of Kibble.




You may purchase as many Farm Cash puppies as you want, and they will not run away if they are not fed for a day.

Eventually, all puppies, if well taken care of will become full grown dogs!
